Wilmslow residents are being invited to attend this year’s Annual Town Meeting, offering local people the chance to hear updates, raise questions and learn more about community work taking place across the town.
The meeting will be held at the halls of Wilmslow United Reformed Church at 6pm on Thursday, May 28. All Wilmslow residents are welcome to attend.
The event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and hear about projects, activities and achievements from the past year. Presentations are expected from local community groups, organisations and charities, alongside a report from Wilmslow Town Council on its work over the last 12 months.
Although the meeting will be chaired by Town Mayor Councillor Sally Harrison, it is not a formal council meeting. Instead, it is intended to be an open forum where residents can raise topics of local interest, ask questions and find out more about what is happening across Wilmslow.
Councillor Harrison said the evening would be a chance to recognise the work being carried out by groups across the town.
She said: “We are delighted to invite all Wilmslow residents to this year’s Annual Town Meeting.
“The evening is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible work being carried out within our community by local groups, organisations and charities.
“Residents will also be able to hear about the work of Wilmslow Town Council over the last year and ask questions on matters affecting the town.
“We hope as many residents as possible will join us for what promises to be an informative and engaging evening.”
Community groups that would like to speak at the meeting and share information about their organisation are being asked to contact the Town Council before Wednesday, May 27.
They can do so by emailing community@wilmslowtowncouncil.gov.uk.
The Annual Town Meeting is expected to cover a range of local issues and community updates, giving residents a direct opportunity to engage with civic life in Wilmslow.
For anyone interested in local projects, volunteering, community organisations or the future of the town, the meeting offers a useful chance to listen, contribute and ask questions.
