Wilmslow Town Council is bringing back a programme of free summer holiday activities for children and young people, including playground fun days, climbing wall sessions and multisports.
Free summer holiday activities are returning to Wilmslow to help children and young people stay active during the school break.
Wilmslow Town Council is supporting a programme of events across the town, giving families access to free activities at a time when school holiday costs can quickly add up.
The programme includes five Playground Fun Days at parks around Wilmslow, three climbing wall events at The Carrs and the continuation of twice-weekly Multisports sessions during the holidays.
The activities are designed to give children the chance to get outdoors, try something different and spend time with others in a safe, supervised setting.
For families, the free sessions offer a practical way to keep children entertained without adding extra pressure to household budgets.
Playground Fun Days are expected to bring informal games and activities to local parks, making use of open spaces close to where families live.
The climbing wall events at The Carrs will give children and young people the chance to take part in a more adventurous activity without needing to travel out of town.
Multisports sessions will continue twice a week, offering structured physical activity for those who enjoy team games, fitness and trying different sports.
The council says the programme is part of its wider support for families and young people in Wilmslow.
School holidays can be difficult for parents trying to balance childcare, work and rising costs. Free local events can help reduce that pressure while also encouraging children to be active and social.
The summer programme also makes use of Wilmslow’s parks and community spaces, helping families enjoy facilities already available in the town.
Outdoor activity can support children’s confidence, fitness and wellbeing, particularly during the long summer break when routines often change.
Residents are being encouraged to check Wilmslow Town Council’s website for the latest details, including dates, times, locations and any booking requirements.
Families should also check whether individual sessions have age limits, clothing requirements or weather-related updates before attending.
