Cheshire and north Wales firm Allington Hughes Law marks 200 years in business
The long-established legal practice, which has offices in Chester, Wrexham and Llanrwst, is marking its 200th anniversary after first opening its doors in 1826.

One of the region’s longest-established legal firms is celebrating a major milestone after reaching its 200th year in business.
Allington Hughes Law, which serves clients across Cheshire and north Wales, was founded in 1826 and is marking two centuries of legal practice.
Today, the firm operates from offices in Chester, Wrexham and Llanrwst, providing legal services for both private individuals and businesses.
Its work covers a broad range of areas including residential conveyancing, family law, wills and probate, civil litigation, criminal law, employment matters, commercial property and personal injury.
The anniversary has been marked with a series of celebrations recognising the firm’s long history and its continued presence in the region.
As part of the celebrations, the company sponsored the Allington Hughes 200th Anniversary Handicap at Chester Racecourse, highlighting its long-standing links with the local community.
Managing Partner Andrew Leeming said reaching 200 years was an achievement made possible by generations of staff and clients who had supported the business over two centuries.
He said the anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on the firm’s history while continuing to build for the future.
Although the legal profession has changed significantly since the business was founded in the early nineteenth century, Allington Hughes has continued to adapt while maintaining a strong local presence across Cheshire and north Wales.
The firm now advises clients on everything from buying and selling homes to family disputes, commercial matters and criminal defence, serving individuals, families and businesses throughout the region.
Reaching its bicentenary places Allington Hughes among a relatively small number of UK law firms to have remained in continuous practice for two centuries.
The anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate not only the firm’s history, but also its continuing role in supporting communities across Cheshire and north Wales.
