The full list of candidates who have declared they intend to fight the Clacton by-election.

Fourteen candidates have declared they intend to fight the Clacton by-election, including Nigel Farage, Laurence Fox and the novelty figure Count Binface. The by-election for the parliamentary constituency of Clacton is scheduled for Thursday 13 August 2026, following the resignation of Nigel Farage as the area’s member of Parliament .

Farage, who will stand again for Reform UK, announced his intention to return in his resignation speech . Laurence Fox, leader of the Reclaim Party, confirmed he would stand on 7 July, saying he seeks to “elevate the Fight on the Right” .

Count Binface, the satirical persona of comedian Jonathan David Harvey, has also announced he will contest the seat, describing himself as a “unity candidate” . Other declared candidates include Piers Corbyn, Ollie Granger, Luke Worley, Kai Stephens for the British Democrats, Adham Alkhatip for the Forward Party, Mr Fishfinger (Paul Ellis), Amelia Randall for the Balanced Britain Party, and independents Marc Berger, Rob Pownall and Luke Worley .

The Monster Raving Loony Party, the Climate Party, the Rejoin EU Party and the British Democrats are also among those intending to stand . The Labour Party, Conservative Party, Green Party, Liberal Democrats and Restore Britain have all confirmed they will not contest the by-election .

Nominations are open from Tuesday 14 July to Friday 17 July at 4pm, and no candidate is officially confirmed until the process closes . The complete and official list of candidates will be published after 17 July .
