Tatton Park in Knutsford is celebrating Winnie-the-Pooh's 100th birthday with a series of special events this summer, including a new garden story trail. The event, created in collaboration with HarperCollins, is designed to immerse visitors in the enchanting world of A.A. Milne's and E.H. Shepard's beloved character.
The 'Three Cheers for Pooh!' garden story trail features favourite excerpts from Milne's tales alongside Shepard's iconic illustrations. Families can explore the park's summer gardens and encounter memorable moments from the classic stories, including Pooh with his honeypot and Tigger bouncing through the landscape.
Each stop on the trail encourages visitors to connect with the park's 50 acres of fragrant formal gardens, woodlands, and winding pathways that reflect the spirit of the stories. Additionally, the Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary Exhibition is taking place at the farm, offering a closer look at the original books and the timeless charm of the Hundred Acre Wood.
The exhibition includes extracts and illustrations that provide an immersive glimpse into Pooh's world. Visitors can learn about A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard in the farm's original mill and Land Agents office while exploring the countryside that inspired the stories. Children can also enjoy the adventure play area, discover animal habitats, and participate in daily storytelling sessions.
To celebrate the centenary, HarperCollins has released new editions of Milne and Shepard's classic titles, along with authorised prequels and sequels, which will be available at Tatton Park's gift shops. Author Jane Riordan will host special storytelling sessions for children on August 1.
The Centenary Exhibition is free to enter with standard farm admission and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm. The garden trail is free with garden admission and is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
Tatton Park is also offering a Park and Play summer pass, allowing families vehicle parkland entry for £20 throughout the summer (attraction entry rules apply). This pass is available for purchase online until July 31.
