New rules are being introduced in Cheshire West and Chester

Residents in Cheshire West and Chester must now register their vehicles before using the council’s household waste and recycling centres (tips). The new rules require all households in the borough to register via an online portal, by phone, or in person on specific days in August.
Registration is a one-off process unless a resident moves house or changes their car, and each household can register up to three vehicles, including one commercial-type van . Going forward, visits to the tips will be strictly monitored, with residents allowed no more than 30 trips a year before needing to apply for special permission .
Extra council staff will be available to help people sign up at the HWRCs on the following dates in August: Tuesday 11 August at Northwich (Marbury Lane), Wednesday 12 August at Ellesmere Port (Garth Road), Thursday 13 August at Tattenhall (Red Lane), Tuesday 25 August at Frodsham (Station Yard) and Chester (Bumpers Lane), Wednesday 26 August at Winsford (Leslie Road), and Thursday 27 August at Neston (Clayhill Industrial Estate) . Residents without a smartphone or computer who only need to register a non-commercial vehicle can contact 0300 123 7026 for assistance .
