Drivers in Chester will soon have the opportunity to order Nissan’s all-new LEAF, with the third-generation electric vehicle set to arrive at dealerships from spring 2027.
Lookers Nissan, on Sealand Road, expects to begin taking customer orders this autumn ahead of the first deliveries next year, giving Cheshire motorists early access to Nissan’s latest electric model.
The new LEAF marks the biggest redesign in the model’s history. Replacing the familiar hatchback shape, it adopts a more aerodynamic crossover design aimed at improving efficiency while offering the practicality many family buyers now expect.
Nissan says the new model will offer a driving range of up to 375 miles on a single charge, depending on the version and market. It will also feature faster charging, updated driver assistance systems and a redesigned interior centred on the company’s latest digital technology.
The vehicle will be built at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, with production scheduled to begin later this year. The factory is one of the UK’s largest car manufacturing sites and has been central to Nissan’s operations in Britain for almost 40 years.
Manufacturing the new LEAF in Sunderland forms part of Nissan’s wider investment in electric vehicle production and battery technology in the UK, supporting the transition to lower-emission transport while safeguarding skilled manufacturing jobs.
First launched in 2010, the original LEAF helped establish the mass-market electric vehicle sector and has sold in large numbers worldwide. The third-generation model builds on that legacy with a longer range, improved efficiency and a design that reflects growing demand for electric crossovers.
For motorists across Chester and the wider Cheshire area considering the switch to electric driving, the arrival of the new LEAF will provide another locally available option as the UK’s electric vehicle market continues to expand.
Orders are expected to open through Nissan retailers, including Lookers Nissan Chester, this autumn, with the first customer deliveries anticipated in spring 2027.
