Chester food tour raises £400 for charity supporting disabled children
A fundraising food tour through Chester’s independent hospitality venues has raised £400 for Children Today, helping the charity provide specialist equipment for disabled children

A special food tour celebrating Chester’s independent hospitality scene has raised £400 for a charity that provides specialist equipment to disabled children and young people.
The fundraising event was organised by Walking Food Tours UK, with founder Gareth Boyd donating his tour fee so that all proceeds from the evening could go directly to Children Today.
Guests explored Chester’s historic city centre while stopping at several independent venues, including Vin Santo, Pars Kahve and Artezzan, where they enjoyed food and drink as part of the guided tour.
Additional donations from Pars Kahve and Artezzan helped increase the total amount raised to £400.
Children Today supports disabled children and young people across the UK by funding specialist equipment that families may otherwise struggle to afford. The charity provides items including adapted trikes, wheelchairs and specialist seating to help improve independence and quality of life.
Aimee Worsfold, partnerships manager at Children Today, said the event celebrated Chester’s independent businesses, history and community spirit while raising valuable funds for the charity’s work.
She said events of this kind are particularly important for smaller charities, not only because they generate much-needed income but also because they help introduce more people to the support the organisation provides.
Gareth Boyd said supporting local businesses and local charities has always been central to his food tours. He thanked everyone who attended the event, along with the participating venues, for helping make the evening a success.
The fundraiser also highlighted the role that Chester’s independent hospitality businesses can play in supporting local and national charitable causes through community events.
