Knutsford Heritage Open Days to Celebrate Town's History
Knutsford Heritage Open Days return in September with free talks, guided tours, workshops and exhibitions celebrating the town’s working history, with some events requiring advance

Programme unveiled for Knutsford Heritage Open Days 2026
The programme for this year’s Knutsford Heritage Open Days has been unveiled, with residents and visitors invited to explore the town’s history through a series of free events, guided tours, exhibitions and workshops.
The festival will take place from 6 to 8 September and is themed “Working Histories”, celebrating the people, trades and industries that have helped shape Knutsford over the years.
Caroline Haynes, Event Manager at Knutsford Town Council, said the programme combines the town’s historic buildings with stories from its past.
She said: “We are extremely excited about this year’s programme, as it perfectly combines Knutsford’s stunning architecture with our vibrant living history. With a varied mix of talks, activities, tours and workshops, there is truly something for everyone.”
Among the highlights is the opportunity to explore Knutsford’s Marble Arch on King Street, visit exhibitions about life in the town’s former workhouse at Jubilee Hall, and discover the history of Tabley House, including the day-to-day lives of the people who worked there.
Visitors will also be able to take part in a willow weaving workshop, offering an introduction to the traditional craft, while guided tours of the Yellow House on Drury Lane—formerly known as the Old Laundry—will explore the building’s history and its role within the town.
Arthur Lee Interiors on Toft Road will also be taking part, sharing the story of the family business and its development over several generations.
Those looking for a different perspective on the town will have the opportunity to climb the bell tower at St Cross Church, where panoramic views across Knutsford will be available.
Other participating venues include Brook Street Chapel, St John’s Church and Knutsford Town Council, each hosting a variety of activities during the festival.
All events are free to attend, although some talks, workshops and guided tours require advance booking because of limited capacity.
