Nantwich Library Launches Summer Reading Challenge for Children
The free initiative encourages young readers to keep up their reading over the school holidays while exploring this year's music-themed challenge.

Nantwich Library is inviting children and families to take part in this year's Summer Reading Challenge, encouraging young people to enjoy books throughout the school holidays.
The free initiative has returned with the 2026 theme, "Read to the Beat", celebrating the connection between reading, music and creativity. Children can sign up at the library and take part over the summer by reading or listening to books of their choice.
The challenge is open to children aged four to 11 and is designed to help maintain reading habits while schools are closed. Participants collect rewards as they complete their reading, with certificates and medals available for those who finish the challenge.
The Summer Reading Challenge is organised nationally by The Reading Agency in partnership with public libraries and aims to inspire a lifelong love of reading while helping children build confidence and improve literacy skills.
Families can visit Nantwich Library throughout the summer holidays to register and find out more about the books, activities and events taking place as part of the challenge.
