Cheshire Named UK's 'Wedding Venue Capital' in New Study
Three Cheshire venues have been ranked among the country's most popular wedding locations, according to new research.

Cheshire has been named the UK's "wedding venue capital" after a new study found the county is home to three of the country's 25 most popular wedding venues.
The research, carried out by wedding planning platform Bridebook, ranked Oak Tree of Peover, Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall among the nation's leading venues. All three are located near Knutsford.
The study found that more than a third of the UK's top wedding venues are based in the north of England, with the North West emerging as one of the country's most sought-after regions for couples planning their wedding day.
Bridebook's Head of Brand, Zoe Burke, said the findings challenge the long-held view that the most desirable wedding venues are concentrated around London and the Cotswolds.
She said Cheshire has developed a strong reputation for combining attractive countryside settings with independently run venues that offer a personalised experience for couples.
Merrydale Manor was also recognised with a Bridebook Platinum award in the Best of Bridebook 2026 awards, while Oak Tree of Peover and Colshaw Hall were included among the highest-ranked venues in the study.
The research also found that many couples are prepared to travel significant distances to secure their preferred venue, reflecting growing demand for destination-style weddings within the UK.
