The Hayloft Cheshire is welcoming families throughout the summer holidays with the return of its popular sunflower maze and a range of outdoor attractions at its farm near Great Sankey.

Situated on Sandy Lane in Bold Heath, the family-run business has grown from a working farm into a popular visitor destination since opening in 2017. Operated by the Owen family, the site combines farming with family-friendly activities, a café and seasonal events.

This year's sunflower maze is now open, giving visitors the chance to explore thousands of blooms while taking part in a family trail. Guests can also pick sunflowers to take home, while younger visitors can enjoy miniature train rides around the farm.

Away from the maze, the site offers a variety of outdoor play facilities, including sports areas, a den-building barn, climbing equipment and pedal tractors. Visitors can also meet many of the farm's animals, including Belted Galloway cattle, ponies, goats, sheep and guinea pigs.

Owner Rod Owen said the school summer holidays are among the busiest times of the year, with thousands of families visiting the farm to make use of its play facilities and seasonal attractions.

Alongside its summer programme, the farm has become known for hosting a variety of community events throughout the year. Preparations are already under way for its annual pumpkin season, Halloween activities and autumn celebrations, which attract visitors from across Cheshire and neighbouring areas.

The Hayloft has also expanded its events programme in recent years, hosting weddings, private functions and family entertainment. Following the success of its first Hayloft Hoedown earlier this summer, another country and western-themed evening has been scheduled for the end of August.

Looking ahead, the Owen family also plans to bring back Hayloft Live, its family festival, during 2027 after a previous event attracted around 2,000 visitors.

The Hayloft Cheshire is located on Sandy Lane, Bold Heath, near Great Sankey, and is open throughout the summer holidays.
