Up to nine homes could be built on open countryside west of Wrenbury Road at Aston near Nantwich, after Propsco applied for permission in principle for the site. The application covers a 0.56-hectare parcel of land at the junction of the A530 Whitchurch Road and Wrenbury Road.
The proposal would use access off Wrenbury Road, with a new footway built along the site frontage to link to an existing footway. Permission in principle is the first stage in a two-stage planning process, and would only establish whether the site is suitable in principle in terms of location, land use and the amount of development.
According to the planning statement submitted by Richard Lee Project Planning on behalf of the applicant, the site is in open countryside and is not allocated for a specific use or development on the local plan proposals map. The applicant also says the site is sustainable and has access to a range of facilities and bus services.
If permission in principle is granted, the site would still need technical details consent before any development can proceed. The application, reference 26/2689/PIP, can be viewed on Cheshire East Council’s planning portal, and the deadline for comments is August 19.
