Cheshire Springs in Whitby, Ellesmere Port, has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission following an assessment carried out this year.
The Exemplar Health Care home, on Chester Road, provides accommodation for up to 20 people and supports those living with mental health conditions, complex needs and dementia.
According to the CQC report, published on Tuesday, July 28, the service was rated Good in four of the five key areas: safety, effectiveness, responsiveness and leadership. It was rated Outstanding for caring.
The inspection took place between April 14 and June 22, 2026, when 18 people were living at the home.
In its findings, the watchdog said people received outstanding care from staff who knew them exceptionally well. It also praised the team’s support, training and involvement of residents in recruitment, induction and training.
The report added that people were consulted about all aspects of their care, with detailed assessments and personalised care plans in place. It also highlighted the home’s planned activities, supportive leadership and a clean, well-maintained environment.
