Up to nine homes could be built on land west of Wrenbury Road at Aston near Nantwich.
Propsco has applied for permission in principle for the scheme on a 0.56-hectare site at the junction of the A530 Whitchurch Road and Wrenbury Road, according to the source report.
The application is for a two-stage planning process known as permission in principle, which would first decide whether the site is suitable in principle for housing. If that is granted, a separate technical details consent would still be needed before any development could begin.
The planning statement, submitted by Richard Lee Project Planning on behalf of the applicant, says the site is in the open countryside and is not allocated for a specific use or development on the local plan proposals map.
The applicant also says the site is sustainable and has access to a range of facilities and bus services.
Access is proposed off Wrenbury Road, with a new footway along the site frontage linking to the existing footway.
The last date for submitting comments is Wednesday 19 August.
