Students across Knutsford are receiving their A-level and vocational qualification results today after months of waiting.
Thursday, August 13, is A-level results day across England, with young people finding out whether they have secured the grades needed for their next steps.
Students receiving Level 3 vocational and technical qualification results, including many BTECs, are also finding out how they have performed.
For some Knutsford students, today’s results will confirm university places and mark the beginning of preparations to leave for higher education later this year.
Others will be moving into apprenticeships, further study, training or employment.
Students applying to university can check their UCAS accounts to see whether their places have been confirmed.
Those who have not received the results required for their original university choices still have several options available.
UCAS Clearing allows applicants without a confirmed place to search for courses that still have vacancies, while students may also choose to reconsider their plans, seek advice from their school or college, or explore apprenticeships and employment.
Results day can bring a mixture of excitement and uncertainty, particularly for students whose grades differ from what they had expected.
Schools and colleges can provide advice about available options, while universities can be contacted directly where students need clarification about an offer.
Students who believe there may have been a problem with a result can also speak to their school or college about the relevant review and appeals procedures.
For families across Knutsford, however, the day is also an opportunity to recognise the work students have put in throughout their courses, regardless of the particular route they choose next.
Results from individual schools and colleges are expected to emerge throughout the day, providing a clearer picture of how Knutsford’s students have performed in 2026.
