Plans have been lodged for a mixed-use development off Palace Fields Avenue in Runcorn that could bring new jobs to the town.
The application, submitted to Halton Council, covers empty land to the west of Hanover Court. Blueprints in the planning papers indicate a triangular site with five self-contained units.
The scheme is said to include an MOT garage, a convenience store, a hairdresser and retail units next to the Hanover Court retirement housing complex.
According to the source report, the proposed development could create 16 full-time jobs and 12 part-time jobs. It has been lodged on behalf of Surrey-based Aluth Rudrigo by planning agents Oakdale Property Consultants of Frodsham.
The application is currently at outline stage, so only the principle of the development is being sought at this point. Detailed matters including layout, scale, appearance and access would need to come back in a future application if the outline plan is approved.
The consultation period is open until September 10.
