Holiday firm helps 350 families enjoy UK breaks through Chester charity partnership
HUNDREDS of families have been able to enjoy breaks across the UK through Sykes Holiday Cottages' partnership with charity, Time Away.

A Chester holiday firm has helped 350 families enjoy breaks across the UK through its partnership with local charity Time Away.
Sykes Holiday Cottages said the scheme has given families caring for children with serious long-term illnesses or disabilities the chance to spend quality time together away from everyday pressures. The company said donations of free stays from its owners are up 12.5% on last year, with 100 holidays already gifted in 2026.
According to the report, the partnership began in 2022. Since then, stays donated through the scheme have given 1,220 adults and children the chance to take a break together, along with 52 family dogs.
James Shaw, managing director at Sykes Holiday Cottages, said it was “really special” that 350 families had been able to take a break together through the scheme. He said the company was grateful to the owners who had donated stays and hoped more families would benefit as donations continued to grow this year.
The report said families caring for a child with a life-changing health condition can be considered for a Time Away holiday through the charity’s website.
