Revised homes plan in open countryside recommended for approval
The proposal is for bungalows and houses

A revised plan for nine homes in the open countryside at Shavington has been recommended for approval by Cheshire East planning officers. The application is on land adjacent to Alfred King Close, to the rear of 42 Chestnut Avenue, and replaces an earlier proposal for 23 homes on the 0.6-hectare site.
The scheme is being brought by John Mallam and his wife. The revised plan is for two two-bed bungalows, two two-bed houses, three three-bed houses and two four-bed houses.
According to the planning officer’s report, the council is no longer able to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, and the site is considered well related to the existing settlement. The report says the development should be approved unless its benefits are substantially outweighed by adverse effects.
The homes would range from single-storey to three storeys in height, with a single vehicular access from Alfred King Close. Shavington Parish Council is said to broadly support the revised application.
The proposal is due to go before Cheshire East’s southern planning committee at 10am on Wednesday, September 9, at Delamere House in Crewe.
