US law firm accuses UK AI software firm of unwanted contract renewal when it tried to leave
Customer alleges AI telco system had frequent issues, did not work as promised, as vendor sues separately for non payment

A US law firm has accused UK-based telecoms and software company ConnexAI of supplying AI and telephone systems that did not work as promised, and of renewing its contract after the customer said it wanted to leave. The company has rejected the allegations, and the dispute is being fought through two ongoing court cases.
The customer, DK Law, a California personal injury firm, said in a court filing in April that ConnexAI sold it a telephone system and AI software that claimed capabilities it did not have or perform as represented. The complaint also says the firm told ConnexAI it would not renew its year-long contract, but was then sent further invoices.
DK Law alleged the system frequently went down, calls were dropped or not answered, and calls were often misrouted. It also said WhatsApp was unreliable and that the transcription tools were inaccurate, with Spanish transcription not working at all.
ConnexAI has separately taken action in New York, where it filed a complaint in March 2026 claiming the customer breached its contract by failing to pay invoices. The Register said it understands ConnexAI considers the allegations frivolous and without merit.
