Blacon schoolboy to climb Ben Nevis for school fundraising
A schoolboy from Blacon is set to climb Ben Nevis this October to raise funds for The Arches Community Primary School.

Theo Cavanagh-Wade, a Year 6 pupil from Blacon, will take on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, to raise money for The Arches Community Primary School. This follows his successful fundraising effort last year, where he raised £2,400 by climbing Snowdon.
The funds raised by Theo previously were used to enhance the school’s playground, benefiting all students at The Arches. This year, he aims to support the development of outdoor learning areas at the school.
Theo is scheduled to attempt the 1,345-metre ascent on Saturday, October 3. His mother, Georgina Cavanagh-Wade, expressed her pride in her son’s determination, stating that he had 'smashed it' during his previous challenge. She noted that the goal for this climb is to create more safe and inspiring spaces for children to enjoy and foster a lifelong love of learning.
