Deliberate fire started at children's play area in Wilmslow

A fire at a children’s play area in Wilmslow is believed to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters were called to Howty Close shortly after 7.30pm on Monday, September 21, following reports of a blaze involving waste and nearby bushes.
A crew attended the scene and used a water backpack to extinguish the flames.
Once the fire was out, firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check the surrounding area and make sure the flames had not spread or left any hidden hotspots.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate.
No injuries were reported in the information released about the incident.
