Historic Cheshire Coaching Inn Sold for £995,000 as New Owners Begin Refurbishment
The Vicarage, a Grade II-listed coaching inn in Cheshire, has been sold to operators Jose Lourenco and Nathan Jordan, who plan a six-week refurbishment.

The Vicarage, a historic Grade II-listed coaching inn in Cheshire, has been sold for £995,000 to hospitality operators Jose Lourenco and Nathan Jordan. The property, which dates back to the 16th century and was originally built as a vicarage, was sold through Christie & Co.
Situated on the A50 between Knutsford and Holmes Chapel, The Vicarage features 23 en suite bedrooms, a detached two-storey Mill House, outdoor seating, and parking for up to 40 vehicles. The new owners also operate The Plough Inn in Eaton, located just 10 minutes away, and have already commenced refurbishment work at The Vicarage.
Lourenco and Jordan stated, "We may be new to The Vicarage, but this isn’t our first rodeo. For the past 11 years, we have been the extremely proud owners of The Plough Inn, Eaton, just 10 minutes down the road from The Vicarage. After 11 years of running The Plough, we’re bringing our experience, passion and love of hospitality to The Vicarage, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come. The Vicarage will be closed for the next six weeks while we give the venue an exciting refurbishment."
The sale was managed by Keith Stringer and Tom O’Malley from Christie & Co’s hospitality team, who expressed confidence that The Vicarage would be a valuable addition to Lourenco and Jordan's portfolio.
While the final sale price remains undisclosed, the property was marketed with a freehold asking price of £995,000. The Vicarage’s location provides strong regional connectivity to Manchester, Chester, and nearby Cheshire towns and villages, covering approximately 1.07 acres.
