An AI tool called MeetTwins is in development and is being tested as a way to attend Google Meet calls on a user’s behalf, relaying only approved information to colleagues. The Register says it was created by Indian developer Aditya Shinde and is currently recruiting beta users.
Shinde said the tool was inspired by his own wish to send an AI bot to his own Google Meet calls, and that it was built using AI models from Indian firm Sarvam with an optional digital twin avatar from Simli.
The article says MeetTwins is designed for status update meetings, students balancing work and class, and routine sales or customer check-in calls. It also says users can prepare it for a meeting by telling it what questions to answer, sharing documents or files, and setting topics that are off limits.
According to the report, Shinde said in a LinkedIn conversation that the assistant will only answer questions approved by the user and will not guess, invent answers or promise anything that should be left to a human.
He also said that if anyone in the meeting is uncomfortable, they can type /stop in the chat and the bot will leave immediately.
