Abbey Gate College will host a 50th anniversary dinner at Chester Racecourse on Thursday, November 19.
The event is set to bring together figures from across the business community for an evening of conversation and networking. It will include a three-course dinner and talks from business figures.
Craig Jenkinson, head of Abbey Gate College, said the college wanted to mark its 50 years with an evening that reflected its values of bold thinking, meaningful connection and a commitment to the next generation. He said the college was pleased with the speaker line-up and invited business people from Chester and the wider region to attend the Racecourse.
Among the headline speakers will be Nisha Katona MBE, founder of Mowgli Street Food and a former child protection barrister, and Dawn Paine, the former marketing director at Nintendo UK. Both are expected to speak about challenging convention and building successful brands and careers.
Anna Barker, senior brand and marketing manager at Chester Zoo, will also speak, focusing on conservation, community and encouraging the next generation of environmental leaders. She will be joined by one of Abbey Gate’s current heads of school for a conversation on purpose and progress.
The dinner will also include a panel of Abbey Gate alumni, among them John Ward OBE and poet Lisa O’Hare, who will reflect on their career journeys since leaving the college.
The event is open to parents, alumni, business professionals and others with an interest in leadership, entrepreneurship or the college’s work. Tickets are priced at £95 per person, with tables of 10 also available.
