Plans to demolish a derelict former nursery on Hough Green Road have been approved, clearing the way for four new homes.
Halton Council planners have backed an outline application to flatten the empty two-storey building and redevelop the site. The plans were submitted by Optimum Engineering Solutions.
Planning documents said the land was bought in 2022 and advertised for sale, but nobody came forward to purchase it for community use.
The application described the site as a derelict plot with an existing building, overgrown foliage, weeds and an abandoned wooden play area to the rear. The former nursery had also been vandalised over the years.
The report said the plot measures 1,385 square metres. It is now set to be replaced by housing, subject to conditions.
Officers attached a number of requirements to the permission. One condition said no above-ground works can begin until full details of the boundary treatment for the site have been submitted and approved by the local planning authority.
