A five-bed house on Manley Lane in Frodsham has been approved for conversion into a children’s home, with accommodation for three young people under the age of 18.

Cheshire West and Chester Council has given the green light to the application, which would turn the property into an Ofsted-registered home. The plans were submitted by Wirral-based Vista Residential Living.

According to the application, the home would provide 24-hour care from staff working on a shift basis. Two carers would be on site, along with a registered manager present between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The property is spread across two floors. On the ground floor there is a bedroom, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, a bathroom and an office. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The application said the exterior would remain unchanged and no structural adaptations were needed because the children expected to live there would not have special or physical care requirements.

It also said professional visitors linked to the children’s care plans could attend during the week, including social workers, health care workers and external auditors or inspectors.

Vista Residential Living said it wanted its homes to look no different from a regular family house, with the bedrooms, kitchen and living areas set up in a typical domestic style.
