Two Chester business leaders are taking part in a four-day endurance challenge to raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
Ian Warwick, founder and managing partner of Deepbridge Capital, and the company’s chief operating officer, Andrew Aldridge, will compete as Team Seadust in this year’s Race Across the UK.
The event will run from October 6 to 9, with teams travelling from Dartmouth to Inverness using public transport and a limited budget.
Competitors will not be allowed to use map applications, book transport in advance or plan their routes before checkpoints are revealed.
Mr Warwick and Mr Aldridge won last year’s inaugural race. They are expected to face a similar challenge this year as they attempt to defend their title.
Mr Aldridge said the team was grateful for support from businesses across Cheshire and beyond.
He also credited Hamilton Jones, Primas Law, Empire Global and Perspective with helping to raise awareness of the charity and its work.
Team Seadust has also received support from Amore Group, Perspective Financial Group, Deepbridge portfolio companies AlgaeCytes and Hurricane Modular Commerce, CXC, Growth Invest and Symvan Capital.
Money raised will go to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, which supports serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Donations can be made through the team’s fundraising page.
