Plans have been submitted for up to 205 new homes in the green gap at Shavington.

The outline application covers land west of Crewe Road and has been submitted to Cheshire East Council by Colin and Geraldine Silvester.

Documents supporting the application say the development would include homes, access roads, open space and associated infrastructure.

Up to 30 per cent of the properties would be affordable homes. The proposal is described as providing a range of house styles and tenures intended to meet local housing needs.

The plans also include play facilities for young people, public open space, habitat creation, nature trails and possible youth facilities.

Walking and cycling routes would run through the open space, including areas of land that are currently inaccessible to the public. Existing trees and most hedgerows would be retained, with additional planting proposed.

The application documents describe the site as adjoining Shavington and say it has access to local services, schools, healthcare, employment and recreational facilities.

The plans remain subject to Cheshire East Council’s planning process. Comments on the application can be submitted until Thursday, 29 October.
