Congleton is getting into the spooky spirit this half-term.

The town council has confirmed the return of the popular Haunted Halloween Trail and Witchy Wednesday.

Little ghouls and gargoyles can look forward to crafts, face painting, fancy dress and plenty of pumpkins.

Adults do not need a ticket, but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Families are asked to book only one session per child and to cancel if they can no longer attend, so others don't miss out.

Councillor Suzy Firkin, Town Mayor of Congleton, said: "Halloween is such a wonderful time for families to come together and enjoy everything our town has to offer.

"The Haunted Halloween Trail and Witchy Wednesday are fantastic examples of local businesses and the community working together to create something special for families during half-term.

"I hope lots of families will get involved, explore the town centre and enjoy some spooky fun."

The free Haunted Halloween Trail runs from Saturday, October 24, to Saturday, October 31.

Families are invited to explore the town centre and look for clues in the windows of more than 40 local shops and businesses.

Trail leaflets can be collected from Congleton Information Centre or downloaded from the town council website, with youngsters able to claim a Halloween treat upon working out the hidden message.

The fun continues on Wednesday, October 28, with Witchy Wednesday at Congleton Town Hall.

There will be pumpkin carving, creepy crafts with ArtSpace, face painting from Wizard of Arts, scary cake decorating and fancy dress.

Tickets cost £2 per child and are available online here , with three sessions available at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm

Adults do not need a ticket, but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Families are asked to book only one session per child and to cancel if they can no longer attend, so others don't miss out.
