Award-winning Cheshire gym owner plans expansion and personal training academy
A Cheshire gym owner is planning further expansion and a personal training academy after moving his business into premises twice the size of its former home.
Jack Green, 26, owns and runs The Thrive Studio, which relocated in May to Chowley Oak, beneath Bolesworth Castle.
The larger site has allowed the business to add Reformer Pilates, dedicated gym rooms, showers and changing facilities.
Green said he wanted to establish Thrive as a leading coaching programme in the Chester area. He also said the business could become a well-known fitness hub over the next five years.
Plans for a personal training academy are aimed at helping new trainers develop their own businesses. Green said there was limited support for people starting out in the industry, particularly those hoping to open their own facility.
Thrive began as a small personal training studio before moving into a unit around seven times larger after building up a waiting list.
Green’s work was recognised in March when he won the High Sheriff of Cheshire Young Person in Business award. He had also been commended twice in the Young Business Person of the Year category at the Chester Business Club Awards.
The academy and further facilities form part of Green’s longer-term plans for the business.
