Around 70 jobs have been lost after Winsford-based online retailer Zavvi ceased trading following its collapse into administration.
ZavviGroup Ltd, which trades as Zavvi, entered administration on 12 October 2026. Chris Skey and Kerry Bailey of BDO LLP were appointed as joint administrators.
The company operated from a warehouse in Winsford, Cheshire, and sold pop culture products including clothing, toys, games, books and trading cards through its website.
Most of Zavvi’s 70-strong workforce have been made redundant with immediate effect. A small number of employees are being retained temporarily to help with the wind-down of the warehouse operation.
Chris Skey said administrators had been unable to find a buyer for the business as a going concern despite efforts by the management team.
“Regrettably, this means the business has had to close and staff have been made redundant,” he said.
Administrators said Zavvi had ceased trading immediately because of the company’s financial position. The website has been taken offline, and the business is unable to fulfil outstanding orders or pre-orders.
Customers have also been told that new orders should not be placed and that returns cannot be accepted.
BDO said it would support affected employees with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service. Customer enquiries can be sent to zavvigroupltd@bdo.co.uk.
