BusinessComparison colleagues have raised more than £4,500 for childhood cancer charity The Joshua Tree after completing Cheshire’s 34-mile Sandstone Trail in memory of nine-year-old Freya Jones.

The team completed the route in 13 hours on 25 September. They began at Frodsham railway station at about 6am, following the sandstone ridge south through Cheshire before finishing near Whitchurch shortly after 7pm.

The challenge was organised in memory of Freya, the daughter of Paul Jones, a friend and former colleague of the Chester-based business. Freya died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The walk included steep climbs and rain, with the team completing the route despite sore legs, nettle stings and blisters.

BusinessComparison team members taking part included Joe Charlesworth, Steph Salusbury, Max Solomon and company founder and managing director Philip Brennan. Rich Goodyear and Sam White supported the group with transport and supplies.

Freya’s father, Paul, and representatives from The Joshua Tree also joined the team during the challenge.

The Joshua Tree supports children and families affected by childhood cancer, providing practical, emotional, health and wellbeing support. The charity was founded in Sandiway, Northwich, and works with families across the UK.

The latest fundraiser followed a similar BusinessComparison walk in July 2025, when colleagues raised £5,200 by walking from New Brighton to Chester while Freya was receiving treatment.
