PLANS have gone in for a huge new 495-home development on farmland just to the west of leafy Hartford.

Plans have been submitted for up to 495 homes on farmland to the west of Hartford.
The outline application was submitted by Redrow to Cheshire West and Chester Council on Monday, October 19. It seeks approval in principle, with detailed matters reserved apart from the main access arrangements.
The proposed development would be reached through two new junctions from Chester Road, with emergency access from Littledales Lane.
Redrow’s plans include 45 per cent affordable housing, allotments, a community orchard and extensive public open space. The scheme would also provide walking and cycling routes, children’s play areas and a range of house types, sizes and tenures.
A public right of way would be safeguarded, while land has been identified for a possible one-form-entry primary school. The proposals also include space for local amenities that could form a focal point for the new neighbourhood.
The application’s design and access statement says the development is intended to create a distinct identity while integrating with the existing community. Mature vegetation would be retained as part of the plans.
The application will now be considered by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning officers. Residents can comment through the council’s planning portal using reference 26/03357/OUT.
Comments must be submitted by Wednesday, November 18.
