Crewe’s Remembrance Sunday parade and service will take place on Sunday 8 November at Memorial Square.
The event is being organised by Crewe Town Council in partnership with the Crewe branch of the Royal British Legion. Residents, families and children are invited to attend.
The parade will include veterans, cadet organisations, uniformed services and schools. Participants should gather at Lyceum Square by 10.15am, before setting off at 10.35am.
The procession will cross Lyceum Square, continue along Heath Street towards Victoria Street, then turn left into Victoria Street and left again into Earle Street before arriving at Memorial Square.
Spectators can watch from along the route.
The service at Memorial Square is due to begin at 10.50am and will be led by Reverend Jim Britcliffe. It will include readings, prayers, songs and blessings.
At 11am, the Last Post will be played before the traditional two-minute silence to remember those who lost their lives in conflict.
Wreath-laying at the Epitaph is scheduled for 11.15am. Civic and official wreaths will be followed by wreaths laid by members of the public.
Final prayers and songs are due to take place at 11.35am.
Free parking for Blue Badge holders will be available at the new Library Car Park on Crewe Street, behind Memorial Square. The car park will be reserved for Blue Badge parking during the event, except for designated electric vehicle charging bays.
