Need Golf has submitted plans to expand its centre near Nantwich with two new nine-hole Putt Golf courses and a new academy building.
James and Sophie Need have applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to develop land next to the existing Need Golf Centre on Main Road, Worleston, near Reaseheath College.
The proposals include two Putt Golf courses, each with nine holes and designed to offer different levels of challenge.
Plans also include a single-storey academy driving range with 14 standard bays, a dedicated teaching bay and custom-fitting bays.
The development would provide additional putting and short-game practice areas, including a nine-hole putting green, a chip-and-putt target green and a bunker.
A larger hospitality offer is proposed, with a kitchen, bar, reception, customer facilities and indoor and outdoor seating. There would also be an outdoor patio area.
The plans include additional car parking, accessible spaces, electric vehicle charging points, improved site access, drainage works, landscaping and perimeter netting.
The application says the expansion could create 11 permanent jobs and attract up to 42,000 additional visitors to the centre each year.
Sophie Need said the family would be ready to begin work immediately if planning permission is granted.
She said the aim was to create an accessible route into golf by bringing Putt Golf, the driving range and a dedicated academy together at one site.
The new academy building would also allow the centre to offer more junior and ladies’ classes, according to the plans.
The proposal does not include a nine-hole or larger golf course.
Residents can submit comments on the application to Cheshire East Council until 25 November 2026.
